Live tables and the Action Arena
A live table has a dealer and real cards. Four games are dealt live at Casino Nanaimo: RUYI Baccarat, Ultimate Texas Hold'em, Kings Bounty Blackjack and Free Bet Blackjack. In Ultimate Texas Hold'em, each player plays against the dealer, not against the other players. Dealers work 4 PM until 12 AM Monday to Thursday, 11 AM until 2 AM Friday and Saturday, 11 AM until 12 AM Sunday.
The Action Arena is the area for electronic table games, where play happens on screens. It offers $1 Roulette, $2 Blackjack and $5 Baccarat, and opens at 12 PM daily. The casino does not post a closing time for it. Live roulette is not on the casino's list or on BCLC's list. Craps is missing from both lists as well.
The poker room
The poker room deals $1/$3 No Limit Texas Hold'em. The two numbers are the blinds: forced bets of $1 and $3 that two players put in before the cards are dealt. No Limit means a player may bet all the chips in front of them on any turn. The buy-in is the money a player brings to the table to start, at least $100 and at most $400.
Poker runs Monday to Thursday 5 PM to 12 AM, Friday and Saturday 12 PM to 2 AM, and Sunday 12 PM to 12 AM. To get on the waitlist, players give their name at Guest Services or call 250-753-3033. Names given in person take priority. Players must be in the casino.
The Encore Rewards card
Encore Rewards is Casino Nanaimo's players club, a membership program run by the casino itself. Membership costs nothing and is arranged at Guest Services. The club has five tiers: Single Diamond, Double Diamond, Triple Diamond, Elite and VIP. This guide lists the tier names and leaves other club details to the casino.
- Game lists here are the casino's and BCLC's, and both can change.
- This guide does not give a count of poker tables, because that figure is not made public.
